STEVE YOUNG
It is with the greatest of sadness that the club advise all present and past members, as well as friends of the QMCC Inc, that on Saturday October 2007, Steve Young passed away after a short battle with Cancer at the age of 54.
Steve was the President of the QMCC Inc and was well known by everyone in the Mini community – the contribution that he has made to both the Queensland Mini Car Club Inc and the greater Mini community can not be over stated.
His love for all Mini’s, from his BMW Mini to his RV (Clubman Van), his extensive collection of real and diecast cars as well as memorabilia was a constant source of pride to Steve and a wonderment to all who knew him.
Steve was an avid fan of all motorsports and had a near photographic memory of all sorts of facts, figures and trivia. The club do not think that there were too many people out there who had a better working and technical knowledge of the Clubman and pretty much when you asked Steve a question on anything to do with Mini’s then you could be almost certain his answer was correct.
The loss of Steve has left a huge hole in the lives of many people who he had influenced over the years. Steve will be greatly missed by all whom have known him.
